1) Is one day enough at bandhavgarh?
If you ask me, it is not enough. In one day you can do a maximum of two safaris. There is no guarantee in wild life sightings, the more you can manage, the better the probability of sightings.

2) for Kanha, which zone is better and is it recommended to select multiple zones for different safaris to increase chances of tiger visibility??
In Kanha, both the Kanha and Mukki zones are supposed to have good sightings. Whether you select multiple zones or stick to one zone would depend on the sightings in the last few days prior to your visit. However, if you are interested in covering the entire forest area and enjoy the diversity of the region, then you should go to multiple zones.

Very useful blog..really. I am planning to visit Kanha & Bandhavgarh in first week of May 2012. I am planning to stay 2 nights at Kanha and one night at Bandhavgarh. Thanks for finding the given information useful. Here is the answer to your questions.
Morning and eveing safaris cost the same. However, the safari charges might be increased very soon.
In Kanha, both Kisli and Mukki are good entry points. In Bandhavgarh, go for Tala (Zone 1). As this zone is in high demand, it is better to book the safaris in advance through the Forest Department Portal mentioned in my post.
