Flower Show Information

Two major Flower Shows are regularly held in Kolkata.

• The first one is held at The Assembly House in the last week of December.
• The second one is held at the gardens of The Agri Horticulture Society of India in Alipore, a stones throw away from the Alipore Zoo.

Two years back a beautiful flower show was organized at Eden Gardens, but this year either it was not held or I missed it.

Here is some basic information about the show held in 2009:

• Location: At the Agri Horticulture grounds, just off Alipore Zoo. If you are coming from AJC Bose Road, go past the Zoo and National Library. Cross the first traffic signal and then it should be on your left, opposite the Command Hospital.
• Entry: Rupees Five
• Parking: On the road, subject to availability
• Photography: Allowed
• Buy: There are a lot of stalls in the exhibition that sell gardening equipments, decorative articles for your gardens, plants of all varieties (bonsai, orchids, cactus as well as other annual plants).
• Eat: Stalls sell snacks and drinks, both hot and cold
